Effective Supervisor® – April 10, 2018

April 10, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

| $195

You’ve hired, promoted, or trained your supervisors to be knowledgeable about your company, its industry, and its standards. But technical knowledge alone can’t make a supervisor great, or, as we like to say, effective. An effective supervisor brings more to the table: an effective supervisor possesses attributes like leadership, communication, trustworthiness, and the ability to evaluate risks. Too often we consider these attributes to be innate traits, but they’re actually skills to be learned and honed over time.

Our Effective Supervisor program—now in its twentieth year—teaches these skills and more. Over 6,000 supervisors, managers, HR generalists, and small business executives have participated in this standard-bearing supervisor training program. Our 2018 program includes the following critical and timely topics:

  • Maximizing employee engagement
  • Distinguishing between impermissible discrimination and permissible differential treatment
  • Handling harassment, bullying, and other bad behavior: Managing through the #MeToo movement
  • Understanding the intersection of technology and the law in the workplace
  • Accommodating employee medical issues without lowering standards
  • Drafting documentation that gets results from employees, respect from HR, and credence from judges and juries
  • Designing and conducting investigations of employee misconduct, including harassment

See our brochure here for even more information.
